Now we arrive at the culmination of the dragon arc, giving closure for Tuka. What should I say here... that this episode is Decisive Battle. And by decisive, as predicted for GATE, will be full of explosions and pitting modern weapons against fire. Spoilers, intentional or otherwise, shall follow.
After meeting the elves on less-than-friendly terms last episode, it seems Yao had straightened out the problem, and they got a backup of eight more elven warriors. Meanwhile, Tuka was stll made fast asleep.
Though, the quick roll call of all the newcomers is usually a bad sign that something will happen to them in this episode.
The group of warriors trekked to the volcano in which the Fire Dragon made its nest. They left Rory behind, as she was comically scared of the dark, when they went in the cave that led to an outcropping inside the volcano. With the dragon nowhere to be seen, they planted bombs to trap the lizard.
Again, the case of bringing otherworldly tech: Yao was skeptical that 74 kilograms of C4 explosives could fell a monster. And here I am, skeptical about the health and safety of those elves, if they who have no knowledge of explosives is given the responsibility to arm the bombs.
But when the Dragon came, everything became a mess. For starters, those eight newcomer elves all got slaughtered.
Now, Tuka awakens from her own false reality. Her dad was dead, saving her, that long time ago. And at her breaking point, the big surprise was that Lelei stepped in and became a voice of reason.
Even more surprising, Lelei picked up some swords by magic and flung them at the dragon. Fascinating scene.

But that big move drained Lelei, and the Dragon was not dead, even killing off the last of the new elves. Empowered by those words, with everyone else dead or injured and otherwise unable to fight, Tuka took the matter into her own hands.
She blasted the dragon with a powerful lightning, no doubt fueled by the hate and revenge (Because Force Lightning is a Dark Side power). And the electricity made the bombs go off. Thus the dragon is dead.
All was finally well and good, until the company went outside to find a severely injured Rory, who sustained Itami's injuries due to the pact from last episode. And to make matters worse, an apostle of the strangely-named god, Hardy, came to get her.
Apparently, this apostle was the one that awakened the Fire Dragon to get the hatchlings, and trained the two dragons for herself. Upon learning that Itami, a mere human that killed the dragon, she sicced her two dragons at him, who fled.
Thankfully, the JSDF arrived in time and pounded the two juveniles to death. That was a quick and useless death. So, I'm more interested to know on how this apostle will add to the plot, being there just for the cause of revelation of who woke the dragon.
Oh, and this last scene again shows the absolute superiority of Japanese military, all those continuous pounding with artillery.
Well, this episode was fun enough, packed with explosions and several useless characters and beasts dying. At the end, the Fire Dragon was killed, and Tuka got her revenge. We'll see next episode, how this matter with Rory and the Apostles will develop, if it will. After all, it is time to delve into the personality of another one of the main girls.
